Hello and Happy New Year!
I hope that 2007 is off to a great start for all of you!

In this issue of the newsletter you will find ideas and information for successful change, new products for weight loss, and workshop announcements.

But first some news---
1. Soon you will be able to use credit card payment for sessions and supplement purchases. Check with me for details if this is an option you wish to use.

2. Our CD's are now on Amazon and CD Baby! My grateful thanks to Tony Pace for jumping us through all the hoops to make this happen! You can also still buy them on my website or Tony's (whiteharbor.com).

3. The end of 2006 found me deep in the throes of becoming certified as an advanced EFT practitioner. That process is now complete and I have to reiterate once again how awestruck I am with the power of this technique. In addition, the community of people who are drawn to study and work in this area are truly a group of sincere, gifted and genuinely open hearted healers and teachers. It is a joy and pleasure to interface with them. I encourage you all to go explore the EFT site if you have not yet. (emofree.com)

Next---
I am so excited to announce that we will be having Judy Norsigian, the Executive Director of The Boston Women's Health Book Collective (Our Bodies Our Selves), as a guest speaker on Feb. 8, 2007, 7-8:30.
The collective has recently published a book on Menopause and Judy will be with us to share ideas and information from this latest offering on women's health.

We are very fortunate to have this opportunity as Judy is normally very busy traveling and speaking throughout the country.
Thank you to the fabulous Pam McCarthy (pammccarthycpa.com) for helping to make this possible!

See workshop section for information regarding details for this evening talk.

Last but not least---
A series of conversations with women about the confusion and challenges of menopause and its management led me to invite Judy Norsigian to speak, as well as to design a workshop that will help women not just survive but thrive during this important life transition!
Details are in the workshop section.

Another area that seems to be asking for attention is the area of relationships! The energy perspective of personal and professional relationships is a fascinating thing. Understanding this level of invisible interaction can help resolve issues, improve current relationships, as well as help you to find new ones.
Details are in the workshop section.
The end of 2006 found many people exploring issues of personal power and the challenge of embracing it in their lives.
With a new year upon us it is a great time to learn and implement new skills, brush up on old ones and put new systems in place that will help you manifest what you desire for your life.
Attention to your inner world and integrating new processes is far more effective than goal setting and spread sheets! The latter are useful, but are doomed to failure if you have not dealt with the former!
For more on this see the articles below.
My best wishes for 2007 to be your happiest, healthiest and most prosperous year so far!

A thought for you---
Passion
Once we understand that emotions are a map of the spirit, we can embark on a more authentic journey through life.

Here we are, at the doorway to 2007 and once again we turn our attention to new goals, aspirations and desires for the year unfolding before us.

Many people have expressed the sentiment that they are glad that 2006 is behind us! It certainly was a year of many challenges. There seems to be a collective sigh of relief as we turn our attention to the blank canvas provided by the turn of the calendar page to 2007.

The image of a blank canvas works for me. It is an image that helps me to feel in touch with my power and ability to choose what I desire to create for my life. That image may not make sense, or touch you in the same way, but there are other images that DO speak to you.
Images are powerful, don't leave them to the inner negative default programs of chance. Identify images that are strong, in alignment with what you want and use them!

Images help harness the power of the subconscious mind to fuel our desire and draw what we want toward us. Positive images, strongly held, can help offset the negative unconscious beliefs that block success. Couple positive images with techniques that collapse negative beliefs and you have a powerful combination that can help make your dreams come true.
What images and ways of envisioning your new year ahead work for you? Remember, you may not see your images---your way may be to know, feel or sense them. The important thing is to have images that work for you.

Another useful tool for change is to review the past year. Look back and remember where you were at the start of 2006 in terms of your consciousness, your understanding about yourself, and how you create your life.
1. What went well?
2. How have you grown in awareness?
3. How is your view different about who you are and what you want now?
4. What did you accomplish in the last year?
Make a list for each part of your life:home, work, relationships etc.
5. What are you grateful for?
Make a list of all your "gratitudes" using the same areas of life that you did for the previous question.

This kind of review can help prepare you for change and it provides a firm foundation for your desired goals for the new year.
If you focus on the formulation of new goals from a perspective of lack and negativity, then you may lose sight of all of that you are, how you have learned and grown in awareness. In addition, coming from the positive provides a framework of powerful energy that keeps you in touch with strength to bring to your new creative process.

If change is approached from the viewpoint of all that has gone wrong, or on how you have failed to get to where you want to go, then your energy is weakened and you will not be meeting new challenges from a perspective of power.

So, remember your strengths, what you have done well, and where you HAVE succeeded. Most of all remember to open your heart and allow loving energy to flow--for you, for life, and for the incredible miracle of simply being here!

1. Do you set goals but lose momentum before reaching them?
2. Does stress or anxiety deplete your vitality and collapse your motivation?
3. Does it seem as if someone else is in charge and your best efforts are sabotaged?
4. Do you feel too weak to stay with your plans all the way to your goals?
5. Do doubt, fear and other obstacles seem to derail you from your dreams?
6. Is it hard to define clearly what you want?
7. Do you know what you want, know all about it, and just can't seem to get there?

If you answered ÒYesÓ to one or more of these questions, you are not alone! Most of us struggle with these issues when trying to create significant change in our lives. The common reasons we use to try to explain and understand falling short of our goals are: self sabotage, weak will, fear of success/ failure, disorganization, lack of real desire, or a lack of information.

While there may be some truth to these reasons, the real truth is that the real seat of power for effective change, lies elsewhere. That elsewhere is your subconscious or unconscious mind.
Change by its nature is difficult and even more so, if not impossible, when we attempt it solely from the level of our conscious mind without addressing the contents of what is out of our awareness.

There are volumes of information out there focused on gaining clarity around goals, how to prioritize, make action plans, be realistic, set time tables and so on ad infinitum. This is the stuff of the conscious mind and the intellect. This is not the part of us that drives the bus!
That is not to say that those aspects are not useful. However, relying on them exclusively is somewhat like putting gas in your car, pointing it in a direction and heading off toward your new horizon without attending to the need for an oil change and perhaps new spark plugs.

You will travel forward, and even make progress. However, at some point the car begins to run roughly and not operate as well as it should. If you continue ignoring the signals being sent, the engine light may come on. Ignore that and you most likely will not get to your destination and you may be stopped in a very inconvenient place!
But, if you heed all your car's need, then you will more likely travel forward with ease.
It is a truism in life that if you ignore the bothersome signals and what they are trying to tell you, then you will eventually have trouble. Then trouble becomes your focus instead of your journey and all the pleasure that can bring.

When it comes to change, most people try to navigate from a position of willpower, a function of the conscious mind.
This is not a bad starting place, but you may have noticed that the shelf life for this kind of approach is about two to three weeks! The conscious mind is not going to go the distance and drive you all the way to permanent change. It is not your conscious mind who is in the driver's seat whether you acknowledge or not!
It is your subconscious mind, its needs, desires and beliefs that determine what you will attract and create in your life. These needs, desires and beliefs not only are not in your awareness, they quite likely are also not in alignment with what your conscious mind states that it wants.

Another factor that needs to be considered is that although the subconscious has tremendous power, it also lacks discrimination. It is very much like a two or three year old child---lots of emotion and no judgment or discernment. Those qualities reside elsewhere. If you truly want to create change in your world, you need to know how to include and use all aspects of your mind.

How do you do that? There many ways including hypnosis, interactive guided imagery, EMDR and inner child work. I have used all of those tools personally and professionally in my thirty years of helping people to address change in their lives, However, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) has emerged hands down as the single most powerful tool I have ever experienced for easily and effectively creating change. Used properly, it painlessly helps to release blocks, dissolve unconscious patterns and integrate new strengths no matter what the issue!

If you really do want to accomplish your New Year's resolutions and consciously create a Self and life you love to BE in, EFT is a very effective method to help you actually make the changes you desire.

It is no secret that the diet industry is huge business. It is also not a secret that what they promote does not fundamentally work! However, year after year people continue to throw large sums of time, money and energy into that industry in the off chance that this time they will find the magic that will finally help them achieve their goal of a happy, healthy new body.
So, what is really going on with our struggle with weight?
Excess weight is fundamentally a sign that there is an imbalance between the mind and body, as well as within the body itself. The unconscious motives responsible for sabotaging our best efforts at change have been addressed elsewhere in this letter, so here we will be looking at what you can do to address the real needs of your body in regards to weight loss.

It is fairly common knowledge that proper food choices and exercise are a necessary part of any attempt to create a healthy weight. It is less well known, although becoming more so, that stress produces hormones within the body that contribute to fat being deposited in all those places we would rather it not show up! Techniques that effectively help us to manage stress are an essential part of any health maintenance program, but are particularly important if you are seeking to conquer your struggle with weight. Meditation and deep relaxation are the foundation of stress management. Many feel they do not have time for these techniques---how important is it to you to really address and change what is causing you grief?
Another area that is not generally well understood about the problem of excess weight is that imbalances in the body create physiology that result in fat not being burned properly and hence it is deposited in our storage facility!
In addition, toxins that collect as a natural by product of the way we live play their part.
A system that helps to detoxify the body and give it the nutrients that it needs to operate well, as well as to correct imbalances is of major assistance with weight loss.
Together Standard Process and MediHerb provide three products that can be used to help return the body to proper balance and encourage healthy weight loss. I would be happy to speak with you regarding the use of these products if you call or e- mail me.

    1. MENOPAUSE:MYTHS, REALITIES & CHOICES

Judy Norsigian, Executive Director, Boston Women's Health Book Collective and co-author of Our Bodies Our Selves

    February 8, 2007, 7-8:30 P.M.

Ninth Wave Wellness Center welcomes Judy Norsigian of the Boston Women's Health Book Collective for an evening of conversation, questions, and exploration of traditional and alternative approaches for healthy management of menopause.

In the 1970's the Boston Women's Health Book Collective burst on the scene with the first edition of Our Bodies Our Selves. Many of us grew up with this book! We learned about our unique health needs as women, as well as how to have a voice in determining what would and would not happen to us in the realm of health and disease care.

It has been almost four decades since its inception, and The Boston Women's Health Collective remains a major influence in helping empower women through health education. They continue to thoughtfully raise our consciousness, as well as skillfully provide accurate health and medical information focused on women's well being.

A philosophical thread that weaves through all their initiatives is the right of every woman to be adequately informed and be an active participant in her own healthcare.
Another important aspect of their mission is a clear position that opposes the medicalization of normal life events and transitions such as childbirth, menopause and aging.
Medicalization of normal physiological events can lead to a lack of proper management, as well as increase the occurrence of unnecessary complications that add stress and impede a healthy and smooth transition through a particular life stage.

With the publication of their newest book, Our Bodies Our Selves: Menopause, this pioneering group of women turns their attention to midlife. The book is devoted to information and tools that educate women about all aspects of this important time of life: the signs, the symptoms, the choices and good self care.

    If you are seeking to:
    Make positive, well informed choices
Learn about healthy solutions and approaches
Take charge of your self and health
    Grow from strength into wisdom

---then join us for what promises to be an enlightening and fun evening in the company of women sharing, learning and growing together.

    2. MENOPAUSE: Your Unique Path

    Wed. evenings: Feb.15, Feb. 22, Mar.1, 2007---7- 9P.M.

Most women arrive in menopause in a state of physical imbalance that gives rise to a multitude of symptoms. Life stress takes its toll on our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual being. The bodymind then has a difficult time maintaining equilibrium with the added stress of the profound inner changes of midlife.
The good news is that balance can be restored with proper identification, attention and support. However, each woman is unique and needs to be aware of appropriate options for her.

In addition to the storm of physical changes, there are also deeper currents that are calling for attention during this time. These deeper issues are often overshadowed by the discomforts and end up being ignored. This leaves them to surface with renewed vengeance at a later time. It does not have to be so however. If the physical discomforts are taken care of in a way that supports health, a woman can then turn to the emotional terrain that is presenting itself. At this time women are being invited to dump their baggage and lighten their load for the next part of life. This truly is a time when every woman is challenged to transition from the birthing and nurturing of others to the birthing and nurturing of her deeper Self. This process requires a commitment to self care that may have been absent until now.
A women needs to bring all the fierceness, creativity and deep attention that she has offered others for a lifetime back to herself now if she is to thrive through this stage into the next.

This three part series will teach you to:<br>
Restore physical balance and well being
Unravel emotional knots that hold you hostage
Open & respond to deeper currents of BEING
    Move from surviving to thriving

    4. EFT:MAGIC OF CHANGE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS!
"EFT is the Best of the Different Types of Energy Psychology.
There are tens of thousands of psychologists and medical doctors that are currently using this exciting innovation in medical care."
    Joseph Mercola, M.D.

It is well documented that stress plays a major role in illness, as well as in the common problems of excess weight, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, and fears/phobias.
Techniques that address stress, and emotional issues where they originate help to dissolve obstacles to successful change, as well as provide strong energy for the effective achievement of goals.

The theory underlying Energy Psychology is that negative feelings involve a disruption to the free flow of the subtle energies that circulate throughout the body. When emotional stress occurs it is a result of those subtle energies being short circuited. If this disruption is corrected, the problem is reduced or eliminated.

Meridian therapies are an emotional version of acupuncture without the needles. Meridian points are stimulated with a gentle tapping with your fingertips.

Since our emotional stresses are often linked with physical ailments, it is being found that diseases and other symptoms often fade with proper use of this method.
