1. Do you set goals but lose momentum before
reaching them?
2. Does stress or anxiety deplete your vitality and collapse your motivation? 3. Does it seem as if someone else is in charge and your best efforts are sabotaged? 4. Do you feel too weak to stay with your plans all the way to your goals? 5. Do doubt, fear and other obstacles seem to derail you from your dreams? 6. Is it hard to define clearly what you want? 7. Do you know what you want, know all about it, and just can't seem to get there? If you answered ÒYesÓ to one or more of these
questions, you are not alone! Most of us struggle
with these issues when trying to create significant
change in our lives. The common reasons we use to
try to explain and understand falling short of our
goals are: self sabotage, weak will, fear of success/
failure, disorganization, lack of real desire, or a lack
of information.
While there may be some truth to these
reasons, the real truth is that the real seat of power
for effective change, lies elsewhere. That elsewhere
is your subconscious or unconscious mind.
Change by its nature is difficult and even more so, if not impossible, when we attempt it solely from the level of our conscious mind without addressing the contents of what is out of our awareness. There are volumes of information out there focused
on gaining clarity around goals, how to prioritize,
make action plans, be realistic, set time tables and
so on ad infinitum. This is the stuff of the conscious
mind and the intellect. This is not the part of us that
drives the bus!
That is not to say that those aspects are not useful. However, relying on them exclusively is somewhat like putting gas in your car, pointing it in a direction and heading off toward your new horizon without attending to the need for an oil change and perhaps new spark plugs. You will travel forward, and even make
progress. However, at some point the car begins to
run roughly and not operate as well as it should. If
you continue ignoring the signals being sent, the
engine light may come on. Ignore that and you most
likely will not get to your destination and you may be
stopped in a very inconvenient place!
But, if you heed all your car's need, then you will more likely travel forward with ease. It is a truism in life that if you ignore the bothersome signals and what they are trying to tell you, then you will eventually have trouble. Then trouble becomes your focus instead of your journey and all the pleasure that can bring. When it comes to change, most people try to
navigate from a position of willpower, a function of
the conscious mind.
This is not a bad starting place, but you may have noticed that the shelf life for this kind of approach is about two to three weeks! The conscious mind is not going to go the distance and drive you all the way to permanent change. It is not your conscious mind who is in the driver's seat whether you acknowledge or not! It is your subconscious mind, its needs, desires and beliefs that determine what you will attract and create in your life. These needs, desires and beliefs not only are not in your awareness, they quite likely are also not in alignment with what your conscious mind states that it wants. Another factor that needs to be considered is that
although the subconscious has tremendous
power, it also lacks discrimination. It is very much
like a two or three year old child---lots of emotion
and no judgment or discernment. Those qualities
reside elsewhere. If you truly want to create change
in your world, you need to know how to include and
use all aspects of your mind.
How do you do that? There many ways including
hypnosis, interactive guided imagery, EMDR and inner
child work. I have used all of those tools
personally and professionally in my thirty years of
helping people to address change in their lives,
However, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) has
emerged hands down as the single most powerful tool
I have ever experienced for easily and effectively
creating change. Used properly, it painlessly helps to
release blocks, dissolve unconscious patterns and
integrate new strengths no matter what the issue!
If you really do want to accomplish your New Year's
resolutions and consciously create a Self and life
you love to BE in, EFT is a very effective method to
help you actually make the changes you desire.

It is no secret that the diet industry is huge
business. It is also not a secret that what they
promote does not fundamentally work! However, year
after year people continue to throw large sums of
time, money and energy into that industry in the off
chance that this time they will find the magic that
will finally help them achieve their goal of a happy,
healthy new body.
So, what is really going on with our struggle with weight? Excess weight is fundamentally a sign that there is an imbalance between the mind and body, as well as within the body itself. The unconscious motives responsible for sabotaging our best efforts at change have been addressed elsewhere in this letter, so here we will be looking at what you can do to address the real needs of your body in regards to weight loss. It is fairly common knowledge that proper food
choices and exercise are a necessary part of any
attempt to create a healthy weight. It is less well
known, although becoming more so, that stress
produces hormones within the body that contribute
to fat being deposited in all those places we would
rather it not show up! Techniques that effectively
help us to manage stress are an essential part of any
health maintenance program, but are particularly
important if you are seeking to conquer your struggle
with weight. Meditation and deep relaxation are the
foundation of stress management. Many feel they do
not have time for these techniques---how important
is it to you to really address and change what is
causing you grief?
Another area that is not generally well understood about the problem of excess weight is that imbalances in the body create physiology that result in fat not being burned properly and hence it is deposited in our storage facility! In addition, toxins that collect as a natural by product of the way we live play their part. A system that helps to detoxify the body and give it the nutrients that it needs to operate well, as well as to correct imbalances is of major assistance with weight loss. Together Standard Process and MediHerb provide three products that can be used to help return the body to proper balance and encourage healthy weight loss. I would be happy to speak with you regarding the use of these products if you call or e- mail me. Healthy Support of Weight Loss

1. MENOPAUSE:MYTHS, REALITIES &
CHOICES
Judy Norsigian, Executive Director, Boston Women's Health Book Collective and co-author of Our Bodies Our Selves February 8, 2007, 7-8:30 P.M. Ninth Wave Wellness Center welcomes Judy Norsigian of the Boston Women's Health Book Collective for an evening of conversation, questions, and exploration of traditional and alternative approaches for healthy management of menopause. In the 1970's the Boston Women's Health Book Collective burst on the scene with the first edition of Our Bodies Our Selves. Many of us grew up with this book! We learned about our unique health needs as women, as well as how to have a voice in determining what would and would not happen to us in the realm of health and disease care. It has been almost four decades since its inception, and The Boston Women's Health Collective remains a major influence in helping empower women through health education. They continue to thoughtfully raise our consciousness, as well as skillfully provide accurate health and medical information focused on women's well being. A philosophical thread that weaves through all their initiatives is the right of every woman to be adequately informed and be an active participant in her own healthcare. Another important aspect of their mission is a clear position that opposes the medicalization of normal life events and transitions such as childbirth, menopause and aging. Medicalization of normal physiological events can lead to a lack of proper management, as well as increase the occurrence of unnecessary complications that add stress and impede a healthy and smooth transition through a particular life stage. With the publication of their newest book, Our Bodies Our Selves: Menopause, this pioneering group of women turns their attention to midlife. The book is devoted to information and tools that educate women about all aspects of this important time of life: the signs, the symptoms, the choices and good self care. If you are seeking to: Make positive, well informed choices Learn about healthy solutions and approaches Take charge of your self and health Grow from strength into wisdom ---then join us for what promises to be an enlightening and fun evening in the company of women sharing, learning and growing together. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~< br> 2. MENOPAUSE: Your Unique Path
Wed. evenings: Feb.15, Feb. 22, Mar.1, 2007---7- 9P.M. Most women arrive in menopause in a state of physical imbalance that gives rise to a multitude of symptoms. Life stress takes its toll on our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual being. The bodymind then has a difficult time maintaining equilibrium with the added stress of the profound inner changes of midlife. The good news is that balance can be restored with proper identification, attention and support. However, each woman is unique and needs to be aware of appropriate options for her. In addition to the storm of physical changes, there are also deeper currents that are calling for attention during this time. These deeper issues are often overshadowed by the discomforts and end up being ignored. This leaves them to surface with renewed vengeance at a later time. It does not have to be so however. If the physical discomforts are taken care of in a way that supports health, a woman can then turn to the emotional terrain that is presenting itself. At this time women are being invited to dump their baggage and lighten their load for the next part of life. This truly is a time when every woman is challenged to transition from the birthing and nurturing of others to the birthing and nurturing of her deeper Self. This process requires a commitment to self care that may have been absent until now. A women needs to bring all the fierceness, creativity and deep attention that she has offered others for a lifetime back to herself now if she is to thrive through this stage into the next. This three part series will teach you to:<br> Restore physical balance and well being Unravel emotional knots that hold you hostage Open & respond to deeper currents of BEING Move from surviving to thriving Each participant in this workshop has the option of receiving an individual computerized evaluation outlining which physical systems are at the root of her symptoms and in need of support. EFT:MAGIC OF CHANGE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS!
"EFT is the Best of the Different Types of Energy Psychology. There are tens of thousands of psychologists and medical doctors that are currently using this exciting innovation in medical care." Joseph Mercola, M.D. It is well documented that stress plays a major role
in illness, as well as in the common problems of
excess weight, fatigue, anxiety, depression,
procrastination, and fears/phobias.
Techniques that address stress, and emotional issues where they originate help to dissolve obstacles to successful change, as well as provide strong energy for the effective achievement of goals. The theory underlying Energy Psychology is that negative feelings involve a disruption to the free flow of the subtle energies that circulate throughout the body. When emotional stress occurs it is a result of those subtle energies being short circuited. If this disruption is corrected, the problem is reduced or eliminated. Meridian therapies are an emotional version of acupuncture without the needles. Meridian points are stimulated with a gentle tapping with your fingertips. Since our emotional stresses are often linked with physical ailments, it is being found that diseases and other symptoms often fade with proper use of this method.
